Industry Readiness Training Overview: Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Use Work Success Skills to set goals, function in a team, manage stress and time, and conduct a job search that will include developing a resume, a cover letter and interviewing.
  • Use the Internet and Microsoft Word and Excel to accomplish tasks.
  • Read industrial prints.
  • Use common measurement tools.
  • Recognize and distinguish among different kinds of machines.
  • Explain quality systems and Lean Manufacturing concepts and their importance.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Explain basic electronics concepts.
  • Work on a team that designs a manufacturing process for the building of a wagon, addressing such issues as the personnel, equipment, materials, time, quality and costs required to manufacture your wagon.
