Module 3 Introduction (U3 M2) Fungi Diversity
Species in the fungi kingdom are often mistaken as plants, because plants and fungi share certain characteristics. They look similar and they live similar lifestyles, but trait-for-trait they have more in common with animals than they do with plants. Interestingly enough, they are more closely related to the animal kingdom as well. In this Module, you will learn about the defining features of this fascinating kingdom, learn about the major phyla within the kingdom, and expose yourself to some representative species.
Module Outcomes:
-
List and recognize traits associated with each major group covered.
-
Use the techniques and principles of taxonomy to identify and classify organisms, from domain to class.
