Module 2 Introduction: (CU4 M2) Weather
Welcome to Credit Unit 4 Module 2: Weather
The overwhelming majority of the water on the Earth is found in the Earth’s oceans. The ocean is very important to us on land in terms of worldwide climate and tidal action. In this Module you will learn about the processes related to ocean circulation and tides, the resulting effects on climate due to both surface and deep ocean currents, and how to use this information to help predict the general temperature of ocean currents, the formation of thermohaline circulation and the changing of the tides.
Module Outcomes:
-
Demonstrate ability to identify major major types of oceanic landforms, types of ocean currents, and types of tides based on height.
-
Understand the basic concepts of oceanic circulation and tidal formation and be able to apply that knowledge to the effects these processes have on continents.
- Understand the importance of ocean currents and tides in terms of its effects on humans.
