Read Section 1. The Reading addresses the answers to the complex questions of what is law and how do we derive it? Section 1 of the text will introduce you to jurisprudence, or the philosophy of law, and various theories of jurisprudence. Think about which theory or theories seem most true to you. Be sure to do the exercises at the end of the selection.
