Print Reading: Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this module, you should be able to:

  • Read and interpret a standard multiview industrial print, including line conventions, title blocks and parts lists, and revision systems.
  • Use 2D layout views to visualize (form a mental picture) and interpret a 3D part.
  • Interpret callout symbols such as threads, surface finishes and hole callouts.
  • Associate dimensions with their physical features.
  • Recognize a print that uses GD&T symbols.
