Practical Nursing 1

The practical nursing I course will provide you with a continuation of basic content that will enable you to provide quality nursing care to assigned clients. A clinical component is included in PN I.

This will be accomplished through the study of:

• Nursing fundamentals II
• Human growth and development
• Nutrition
• Introduction to illness

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

31.0 Describe human growth and development.
32.0 Apply the principles of infection control, utilizing nursing principles.
33.0 Perform aseptic techniques.
34.0 Describe the anatomy and physiology of the human body.
35.0 Apply principles of nutrition.
36.0 Perform nursing procedures.
37.0 Administer medication.
39.0 Provide care for pre-operative and post-operative patients, utilizing nursing principles.
